Artist: Carl Larsson
Crayfishing, c. 1895 by Carl Larsson (Swedish, 1853–1919). Born into poverty, Carl Larsson earned a scholarship at the Stockholm Academy of Fine Arts. After marrying artist Karin Bergoo, they moved to the rural village of Sundborn. Carl delighted in rendering their cottage and its inhabitants in loving, lighthearted watercolors that document the family’s idyllic country life. |
